THOUGHTFUL (AND CUTE) PACKAGING

We zeroed in on the parts of packaging that we thought we could make reusable, namely the wrapping of the garment. We chose dustbags in place of tissue paper and commissioned a custom art print to put on our order notes in hopes of preventing it from being chucked into the trash within 30 seconds of opening the box. 

We're still refining and we know that this will likely never be a perfectly 'finished' project, but we've designed and curated each item of our packaging to be as sustainable as possible. Read below to see what we've done and why. 

Swing/Hang Tags

We decided on two hang tags, attached to the garment by a cotton string. 

The tags, are made from 100% recycled stock. Chosen for their small size to minimize waste, one is a brand tag with legal and care information on the back, and the other is confirming that your pieces have been carefully inspected by our quality assurance team and are finished with a signature from the inspector. This tag is made of a thinner stock than the first and is, of course, also 100% recycled. Both of these items are recyclable.

Ink

Every printed item in our packaging uses water-based inks which are free of reactive chemistries -- making them safer to use and better for the environment.

Dust Bags

Not only are dust bags luxurious, but our custom logo-embroidered cotton bags are fully functional and are meant to store your delicates and can keep your lingerie safe from hooks and eyes, snags, tears, and, well, dust. If you have multiple OE sets, we suggest leaving a strap poking out so you can tell them apart when tucked away. Think of it as like a cute little robe for your lingerie to wear off-duty. 

Thread

The thread used to embroider the dustbags is the only plastic in the packaging -- for reference, most thread used in garment construction and textiles is 100% spun polyester for durability. 

Order Card

 This card features a note from our founder, a brief overview of the return policy, and on the reverse side, an illustration commissioned by a local artist (who you can find on our OTHER CREATIVES page). This note card is made from 100% recycled stock and the cards' dimensions were chosen to fit into picture frames. Give it as a gift, put it in your room, on your fridge -- we'll be rotating the designs every now and then to keep things fresh. 

Order Tape

We printed custom stickers to seal our order boxes. The sticker is not made of recycled stock, so it is one of the few items in our packaging that that uses virgin resources. The ink, however, is still eco-friendly and the sticker is recyclable. 

Shipping Boxes

Our boxes use virgin materials -- for now! Once we use up this batch, we've already sourced a small Canadian business from where we'll order 100% recycled boxes (most of which is post-consumer waste). Stay tuned! Our boxes, however, are always made from sturdy cardboard and are meant to be collapsed and reused. 

Other Considerations

All of our printed items are from a small Canadian company and are printed in Canada. This minimizes shipping costs and by extension, keeps costs lower for you. Lastly, since we're not sourcing these items overseas, they won't use any airplane fuel.
