ABOUT

Of Elizabeth: A trifecta of ethics, comfort, and fashion

Of Elizabeth

Our collections are handcrafted in Europe and focus on offering the wearer both comfort and uniqueness, often in unexpected fabrics.
What does that mean?
We love combining interesting textures, colors, and everything in between.
One season's offerings may be made of delicate Chantilly lace and lightweight tulle, while others may be cotton with a bold print and padded cups for versatility of wear.
Our designs draw from the natural world, botanics, fine art, and architecture.

 The Story

Once upon a time, we were called Queen of Suburbia and our founder made everything by hand in our private atelier in Toronto, Canada. Born from the woes of perpetually being unable to find a well-fitting bra, and frustrated with the lack of transparency in the fashion industry, she created her eponymous brand, now called Of Elizabeth, to bring comprehensive transparency to our clients. We're determined to fit and flatter a wide range of bodies while also creating investment pieces that last. We want you to know where your garments were made, who made them, and every step we've taken to honor our choice of promoting sustainable and thoughtful buying.

The Founder

I blogged about lingerie for three years but kept having the same refrain: "This was expensive and it doesn't fit." I started sewing to alter nice things to fit my body, and then I got into pattern drafting shortly after. I started Queen of Suburbia and went to fashion school while I ran my business in tandem. Would I recommend it? No!

But it did fuel my passion to create. Between then and now my designs were worn by Halsey, the pop star, stocked in specialist boutiques internationally, and received countless thoughtful emails from clients and the likes.

In 2023, we rebranded to Of Elizabeth.

We're now produced in Europe by a small team of women being paid fairly for their skill and expertise. Each pattern is made by me, and each collection is conceptualized by me and brought to life through many nights on the floor with a pair of scissors and some nice lace.
